Refund Policies

Application Fee
Nonrefundable
Initial Program Fee
60% refundable if family withdraws 4 weeks or less after agreement date.
40% refundable if family withdraws between 4 to 8 weeks after agreement date.
No refund will be issued after 8 weeks.
-Second Program Fee – Nonrefundable
-Final Program Fee – Nonrefundable
Travel Fee
Nonrefundable if family travels and at the discretion of the supervisor if
family withdraws before traveling.
Post Placement Deposit
100% refunded after the submission of the final post placement report if
all required reports are sent in on time. If a report is not submitted, or not
submitted on time, deposit money is retained by AWAA.
Home Study Fee
90% refundable before attendance of a first visit (including orientation).
After attendance of first visit refund for fees are at the discretion of the
Social Service Director.
Post Placement Fee
Nonrefundable unless family moves into a state in which America World is
not licensed to conduct home studies.
REFUND NOTE: If a family fails to properly disclose information or in any way
puts the agency and its interests at risk, America World retains the right to
terminate adoption process without providing any refund. If there are special
circumstances that require a family to withdraw temporarily or suspend their
adoption, America World will apply 80% of the family’s previously paid fees to
the reactivated adoption if it takes place within eighteen months of the
withdrawal/suspension. If more than six months have elapsed the family will
need to reapply and all fees due the agency will be at the then current rates.
The Executive Director retains the right to assess individual cases and
determine refunds for atypical cases.
