Application through final adoption decree is approximately 12-18 months.

Children Available
|
Boys are more readily available than girls; 7 months - 15 years old. In Kazakhstan, you have the option to adopt siblings.

Parents' Ages
|
Parents must be at least 25 years old and no older than 49 years at time of dossier submission. Parents cannot be more than 40-45 years older than adoptee (this varies from region to region and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis).

Marriage Status
|
Only married couples are accepted for adoption.

Divorce
|
Permitted (maximum of two per spouse).

Children in Family
|
Families with up to three children in the home are permitted to adopt. Larger families will also be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Income
|
Joint income must be at least $10,000 per member of the household, including your adopted child.

Criminal History
|
No criminal history permitted.
|
|
Medical History
|
No major medical issues permitted. No mental health diagnoses or treatment permitted. Other medical issues reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

|
Travel to Country
|
Both parents must travel on the first trip. Only one parent must return for the second trip. The duration of the first trip is typically 3-4 weeks. The average waiting time before the seond trip is 1 month from the first trip. The second trip is typically 7-10 days. Families can stay in-country to complete the process in one trip of at least 45 days.
