What is the status of the Rwanda Program?
In August of 2010, the Rwandan Government made the decision to stop accepting new applicants in order to become a Hague compliant country. Rwanda is still processing adoptions for families who submitted dossiers prior to August 2010 but is not accepting new applicants at this time.
When will Rwanda begin accepting new applicants?
Rwanda has not indicated a re-opening date at this time. Any new information will be posted on our blog. The Rwandan Government will take the necessary actions required to become Hague compliant before they begin accepting new applicants. This process could take anywhere from several months to many years.
Is America World accepting new applicants?
America World is accepting new applicants into the Rwanda program. Families are accepted into the program with the understanding that their adoption process will be on hold until more information is received from the Rwandan Government. Please continue to check our blog for updates.
