Processing Time
Application through arriving home with child is dependent upon child request, dossier building, etc. Approximate timeframe is 14 - 17 months.
Children Available
3 months to 15 years are available, with multiple unrelated child groups available. Both healthy boys and girls are available.
Parents' Age
Applicants must be no older than 50 years old.
Marriage Status
Couples must be married for a minimum of five years.
Divorce
No divorce permitted.
Criminal History
Criminal records for minor incidents, which are at least 10 years old, will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. No multiple offenses.
Medical History
Medications and mental health diagnoses and treatment are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Travel to Country
Both parents are encouraged to travel; at least one must travel. Though travel times can vary, most families are in country for 2 weeks, one week in Rwanda, and one week in Kenya or Ethiopia.
Income
Families must be able to show they can adequately provide financially for their children. A family’s income and full financial status will be evaluated as part of the adoption process.
