Our China Heritage Tours are thoughtfully designed to balance sightseeing, cultural experiences, personal reflection, and meaningful connections. Families have the opportunity to visit historic landmarks, experience daily life in China, explore cultural traditions, and, when possible, revisit places connected to their adoption journey.
These trips are about more than travel. They create opportunities for conversation, identity exploration, and shared family experiences that can have a lasting impact for years to come.

Upcoming Tours
We are excited to announce that registration is now open for the 2027 China Heritage Tours!
These tours provide a wonderful opportunity for a parent and child to experience China together, or for the whole family to participate. Adult adoptees are also invited to participate. Whether traveling independently or with family or friends, we hope to create meaningful opportunities for personal reflection, cultural connection, and shared experiences.

*Notes on Tour Package Costs: Fees are per person and include accommodations, in-country flights and high-speed train (if applicable), English-speaking guides, breakfast and scheduled group meals, entrance fees to sites, and planned events.
Package costs do not include international airfare, passports/visas, some meals, medical/traveler’s insurance, tips, or personal expenses.
Deposit: A $200 nonrefundable deposit per participant is due at registration.
Eligibility: Families who completed an adoption through AWAA. If your child’s birth province is not featured in a 2027 tour, please reach out to me to discuss any individual requests. While each tour features a certain area, we can consider additional locations on a case-by-case basis.
Important: All travelers must have a passport valid for at least six months beyond the travel dates.
Before registering, please review the China Heritage Tour FAQs for additional information about the tour package, tentative itinerary details, registration account setup, orphanage visits, required documents, and preparing for your journey.
Please also carefully review the Heritage Tour Agreement. Each participant must sign and return a notarized copy to AWAA. Minors may be included on one parent’s agreement. All six pages must be submitted, not just the signature/notary page.
