New Jersey Home Study Coordinator
Ernesto “Ernie” Rivera serves as a Home Study Coordinator with America World and walks alongside prospective adoptive families throughout the home study process. His responsibilities include conducting family interviews and home visits, reviewing required documentation, assessing family readiness and suitability for adoption, preparing home study and post-adoption reports, and providing guidance and support throughout. He also helps families understand and meet applicable agency, state, and adoption requirements.
Ernie holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Southeastern University and an M.A. in Human Services from Liberty University. He is currently completing his Master of Divinity and expects to graduate in Spring 2027.
His professional background includes human services, case management, youth development, and pastoral ministry. He previously served as a Post-Release Services Lead Case Manager, working with youth and families to provide resources, advocacy, support, and ongoing case management. He has also spent significant time serving youth in inner-city communities through mentoring, outreach, and leadership development. In addition, Ernie brings more than a decade of experience in pastoral and nonprofit leadership.
Through his work with America World, Ernesto is grateful for the opportunity to support families as they prepare to welcome a child through adoption. He values the chance to offer families encouragement, guidance, and practical support throughout their unique adoption journeys.
Outside of work, Ernie enjoys fishing, staying active, reading, and spending time with his wife, their three boys, and their Goldendoodle.
