Maryland Director of Social Services

As the Maryland Director of Social Services, Yolanda oversees the State’s social services program and ensures America World families receive compassionate, Christ-centered services throughout their adoption journey. Yolanda also completes home studies and post-placement reports and supervises Maryland’s home study coordinators.

Yolanda is an independently licensed clinical social worker in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Minnesota. She earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Bowie State University. Her work is grounded in faith-based principles while remaining deeply committed to restoring hope and strengthening resilience in individuals and families.

Outside of her professional work, Yolanda cherishes time with her husband of ten years and their two children, an energetic nine-year-old daughter and a baby boy welcomed on her actual 10th wedding anniversary in December 2025. Yolanda enjoys the peace and tranquility of living near the water, traveling, exploring new restaurants, and playing the classic card game Spades.
