Sarah Hofland, LBSW

Iowa Home Study Coordinator

Sarah Hofland works closely with America World families throughout the home study and post-adoption process, conducting interviews, home visits, assessments, and follow-up visits. With more than 25 years of experience in the adoption field, Sarah brings extensive knowledge, compassion, and a deeply personal connection to her work.

Adoption has been a meaningful part of Sarah’s life from an early age. Three of her five siblings joined her family through international adoption — two as infants while Sarah was a toddler and another at age five when she was in junior high. Her mother has also worked in the adoption field since Sarah was in elementary school, giving her firsthand insight into the impact adoption can have on children and families.

Sarah graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work in 1998. She has worked in the adoption field since graduating from college and, since 2001, has also owned and operated her own in-home daycare.

Sarah considers adoption a lifelong passion and feels blessed to be part of God’s work through adoption. She is grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside families as they navigate their unique adoption journeys and to offer support and encouragement throughout the process.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband and their family, which includes four children, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, a grandson, and a granddaughter. She especially enjoys cheering on her younger children at their softball games, dance competitions, and gymnastics meets.
